It’s the holiday season: a time when many couples choose to announce their engagement. That public acknowledgment of commitment and the intention to marry is often marked with a gathering for family and friends. And with that comes an opportunity to make a social speech, to “say a few words”.

Here’s 5 short example toasts. They’re written as if they’re being delivered by a Father, a Mother, a childhood friend, a groom to-be, and a bride to-be.

Pop them in your sample speech file for your student’s to work with. Get them to say them out loud. Or use them as templates to write their own toasts. In short, have fun with them!
